The Adventure Continues….Prince Christian Sund
We left Narsaq after dark, bound for Prince Christian Sund — a narrow channel notorious among navigators for its unpredictable winds and the icebergs that can block passage without warning. The crossing was slow going, full of twists and turns as we threaded around cliffs and hazards hidden in the dark water.

It was dense fog as we arrived but inside the Sund, the sun emerged and the scenery turned dramatic: waterfalls tumbled down the rock walls on either side, and at points we passed close enough to Greenland’s Ice Cap to feel its presence looming over the channel.

The ice cap covers 80% of Greenland.
